The Council of the Department of Islamic Studies convened under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Shahat, Head of the Council, and in the presence of the members of the department council. The meeting discussed several items on the agenda, as follows:

• Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting.
• Approval of extensions, registrations, and formation of supervisory committees for a number of postgraduate students (Master’s and PhD degrees).
• Reviewing the quality assurance file and accreditation standards.
• Discussing any other emerging matters.

At the end of the meeting, the Council emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to improve the academic and research performance of the department in line with quality and accreditation standards.
